According to foreign media reports, on the evening of May 31st 2018, Yangming Shipping’s container ship “YM EFFICIENCY” had a serious accident at about 15 nautical miles from Newcastle, Australia. 80 containers fell into the sea and more than 30 of them were destroyed and sunk. AMSA (Australian Maritime Safety Authority) had already inspected the list of cargo on board and checked the condition of the vessel. But the reason for the dumping of containers was still unclear, and it was speculated that it might be related to the weather and wind waves at that time.
According to the latest reports from foreign media, on July 10th 2018, an accident occurred in a Thailand’s barge which was full of containers, the hull was damaged and 16 containers fell into the sea! The ship, called NP LOVEGISTICS 2, was carrying out transportation operations from the Kantang port in Thailand to Port Klang in Malaysia. From the sign of the container that fell into the sea, it seems to be the box of the CMA CGM.The location of the accident was located near Yeouido in the Andaman Sea. It is reported that the cause of the accident may be related to the stormy weather at that time. After the accident, the ship is currently evading the Bay Area due to damage to the hull.
