According to the Ministry of Commerce, in the first three quarters of this year, the total value of imports and exports of China and the “one belt and one road” countries exceeded 6 trillion yuan, an increase of more than 13% over the same period last year.
According to the data released by the General Administration of customs, in the first three quarters of this year, China’s imports and exports to the European Union, the United States and ASEAN increased by 7.3%, 6.5% and 12.6% respectively, and the growth rate of imports and exports of some countries along the “one belt and one road” in Russia, Poland and Kazakhstan were higher than the overall growth rate. Experts believe that in the face of the changeable external environment, foreign trade has maintained stable operation and market diversification has made good progress, reflecting the further strengthening of the endogenous motive force of China’s economic development, and also benefiting from efforts to further expand opening-up, such as promoting trade facilitation and reducing import tariffs.
In terms of facilitation, we should build free trade zones with willing countries, conclude negotiations on China-Mauritius free trade agreement, promote negotiations on regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement, upgrade negotiations on China-Singapore free trade agreement, and China-Moldova free trade agreement negotiations. The Fourth Round of Tariff Concessions Outcome Document of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement has come into force. Six members will reduce tariffs on more than 10,000 items of tax, with an average reduction of 33%.
In terms of project construction, the Yagi Railway, Piraeus Port and Money Railway are operating smoothly, and the construction of the nuclear power plant in Cape Hinckley, the China-Laos Railway and the Hungarian Railway are steadily advancing. Up to now, 82 overseas economic and trade cooperation zones have been promoted by Chinese enterprises in the countries along the line, with a total of 2.01 billion US dollars in taxes and fees handed over to the host country, creating 244,000 jobs for the locality.
